WIEN: International Summer University: Alternative Economic and Monetary Systems
You want to discuss current problems, alternative approaches and ideas for a more sustainable future? At the AEMS Summer School (5 ECTS), international participants deal with the limits of growth and the instabilities of the financial system and learn why a drastic system change is necessary to stabilize the global climate. Through an interdisciplinary and holistic program, you learn about different approaches to solutions, such as Doughnut Economics, the Economy for the Common Good, complementary currencies, sovereign money and many more.
Students will engage with the topics through lectures, workshops, educational games and simulations. Highlights include public events (opening, panel discussion and movie night), as well a social housing walking tour, an excursion to IIASA and different social activities, such as a dinner at an Austrian "Heurigen"! Read more in the AEMS 2024 Review.
Applications open in January 2025. We are looking forward to meeting you!
